About

I’ve spent my career asking one big question: What makes people cooperate—and what makes cooperation break down?

As a social and cognitive anthropologist, I specialise in the science of human cooperation and conflict, drawing on two decades of research across cultures, to uncover how people from different backgrounds think, feel, and act in social settings. My work explores the psychological and cultural roots of teamwork, competition, leadership, and emotional friction, offering insights that are directly applicable to today’s complex business and institutional environments.

I’ve advised global companies, education leaders, and public sector organizations on how to:

  • Build cohesive teams in multicultural environments
  • Navigate competitive vs. cooperative mindsets
  • Improve emotional intelligence and manage friction at work
  • Resolve conflict and foster more effective collaboration

My research has been funded by the European Research Council and the Academy of Finland, and I’ve collaborated with organisation like Unicef and Ipsos Mori. I’ve also trained teams and leaders in Brazil, Finland, and China on how emotions like irritation shape cooperation and resistance in everyday life.

Whether you’re leading a team, designing a policy, or developing behavioural interventions, I can help you understand the human dynamics of success.
